MUSIC EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (MEPP)
The UNC Asheville String Quartet performs for students at Emma Elementary
The MEPP provides education and outreach services to the surrounding community. Free tickets to students and their families, music education programs in the schools and special concerts are all activities supported by contributions from corporations, foundations and individuals and planned with the cooperation of schools and community organizations.
Your contributions to Asheville Bravo Concerts MEPP insure that today’s young people will be exposed to and come to love the same music you enjoy. For information regarding how you can help, please contact our office at 828-225-5887 or info@ashevillebravoconcerts.org.
Bravo instituted the MEPP after two successful pilot programs in the 90’s.
- The distribution of more than 700 free tickets to the Boys Choir of Harlem (funded in part by the Janirve Foundation) in 1998.
- Nine school programs, a master class and a choir workshop featuring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and storyteller Junebug (funded in part by the Beattie Foundation and a Grassroots Program Grant of the NC Arts Council) in 1999.
